Carports serve many functions in a house. You can save on the costs of building a full-sized garage and yet still add resale value to your house when the time comes. Your car will still be protected from the elements while you skip on the costs of garage maintenance and the hassles of access with a garage. Select the Site

Besides, why spend money rebuilding the carport when you can build it as strong as possible in the first instance?

You may just decide to move it from the side of the house to the front yard, in which case the use of bolts is a good tactic.

Plus, if the carport is annexed to the house, you need not worry about it undermining the house’s foundation. Of course, you also want the carport to be a beautiful addition to your house but this is secondary.
You must also ask the local authorities about rules regarding the construction of carports. Your choice of carport plans may change when these laws are taken into account but probably not in a big way.
